Nation's longest covered bridge opens in Ohio

Sneaked a peek at the nation's longest covered bridge before opening. Star Beacon article by the esteemed Carl Feather. "The new bridge is 613 feet long and cost $8 million. It is No. 17 for Ashtabula County and the longest in the United States."

I've got a thing for bridges (engineering background), and this is definitely my kind of thing. Are covered bridges common around there?

Do you? And another piece of the puzzle comes together. Yes, this is no. 17 for the country alone, which encompasses a few towns and cities, not a lot, so it's a hot spot. This is being followed by the nation's shortest bridge in the next county, which just got funding.
