Julian Beever is an English artist who's famous for his art on the pavement of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. Beever gives to his drawings an amazing 3D illusion. His stuff is mindblowing. This isn't even the best example, but I had to post it for obvious batty reasons.

Yeah, that guy is just amazing. Reminds me of William Harnet and those. Some of his works were at the National Gallery of Art in DC when I was up there. These still lifes. It looks like you could reach out and grab the stuff - no joke.
Wow, you actually saw this stuff!
There's a part on his site where he shows a pic of local officials gathered 'round the beginnings of a piece...he says it happens all too often; they shut it down after a day's work.
I emailed him a fan note and got back a "thanks Julian"
